VILLA SPINOSA CELEBRATES: TRE BICCHIERI FOR THE EIGHTH TIME

Villa Spinosa's "Albasini" Amarone received a Three Glasses Award for its seventh appearance in Gambero Rosso's Vini d'Italia guide.

Valpolicella, October 07th, 2025

Villa Spinosa's 2018 vintage "Albasini" Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG has won the prestigious "Tre Bicchieri" award for the seventh consecutive year, a historic Gambero Rosso prize that will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, in 2026. The guide is a benchmark in the winemaking world and among consumers: it represents one of the highest accolades for Italian wine, a prize recognized and esteemed internationally.

Villa Spinosa's first Tre Bicchieri award came in 2016 for "Jago," the 2011 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC. Subsequently, all the vintages of "Albasini" Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG presented—2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, up until the current winner, 2018—have received this prestigious recognition.

Villa Spinosa cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica area and has winemaking and aging cellars in Negrar di Valpolicella and Marano di Valpolicella. The company's winemaking philosophy is based on a style faithful to the tradition and distinctiveness of Valpolicella, values that are now prized and embraced and appreciated by wine critics.

"The result achieved," says Enrico Cascella, at the helm of Villa Spinosa, "is thrilling: this Amarone has won an award for the seventh time, a sign of our achieved consistency, which authorizes us to represent Amarone della Valpolicella worldwide. It's gratifying, but it also presents us with a fascinating and stimulating challenge: in the coming years, we must also succeed in enhancing the other wines that complement the fame of Valpolicella."

"Albasini," adds Enrico, "is our most traditional expression of Amarone: it reflects the wine's identity and the winery's production philosophy: controlled power, natural elegance, and territorial expression. It is dedicated to our Albasini ancestors, who in the 19th century began cultivating the land in Figari, a cru overlooking the Marano di Valpolicella valley."

To celebrate this important milestone, starting in October, we will launch a new tasting experience at the winery: an exclusive vertical tasting featuring all the Amarone vintages awarded by Gambero Rosso over the years.
Our guests will have the opportunity to taste Albasini Amarone in a private room, the ancient place where wines are aged in wooden barrels, from the 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2018 vintages.

This tasting will be an extraordinary opportunity to discover the evolution and bottle aging of an award-winning Amarone, a symbol of excellence and passion for winemaking.
