"Albasini" Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2015 vintage of Villa Spinosa, wins for the fifth consecutive time the prestigious "Tre Bicchieri", the historic Gambero Rosso award born more than 30 years ago, a reference in the wine and consumer scene that represents one of the highest awards for Italian wine.
The first Tre Bicchieri of Villa Spinosa arrived in 2016 for "Jago", the Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Doc 2011.
Subsequently all the vintages of "Albasini" Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG presented, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013 up to current award, the 2015, have received the Tre Bicchieri.
Valpolicella is one of the most important and appreciated districts of Italian wine and Villa Spinosa, which cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards and owns a winemaking and aging cellar between Negrar di Valpolicella and Marano di Valpolicella, rests its enological philosophy on a style faithful to tradition , to the typicality and peculiarity of Valpolicella, values that have now become a value and are pursued and appreciated by wine critics.
"After years in which international markets were mainly attracted by muscular wines, adapted to an approved international taste, the consumer is now asking for authenticity, fidelity and recognition of a style and a territory", says Cascella Spinosa who leads the company from Jago by Negrar. "It is an exciting result for our Amarone Albasini, which for the fifth time in a row obtains the Tre Bicchieri, a symbol of excellence: a result that rewards corporate consistency and the demonstration that we can represent Amarone in the world".
"Amarone is the most representative wine of Valpolicella" adds Enrico, "and Albasini is our most traditional expression, a wine that stands out for its finesse, elegance and rigorous character. We dedicated it to our Albasini ancestors who in the nineteenth century began the cultivation of the land in Figàri, a cru located in the Marano di Valpolicella valley. In line with the green philosophy now adopted by the company, the “Albasini” Amarone is also attentive to the environment: we have in fact started using bottles of the same shape, but lighter, going from 720 grams each to 520 grams. "
The appointment with Amarone "Albasini" 2015 will be at the Tre Bicchieri award ceremony in Rome on 15 October.
For all fans, it will also be possible to taste it in the Enoteca in Tinaia, the Wine Shop of Villa Spinosa, in the Borgo di Jago in Negrar di Valpolicella
