Valpolicella, December 16th, 2016
The Villa Spinosa’s project of research on the aging in wood of the Amarone begins to take the first steps.
The first nine 500 litre French oak barrels from the cooper “Boutes” have just arrived.
The study involves the use of barrels from different coopers in order to better understand what is the best choice in terms of wood,
seasoning and toasting for a perfect aging of the Amarone della Valpolicella.
This is a project that the technical staff of Villa Spinosa wants to make to optimize the resulting product.
It’s going to be an impetus for all of us to increase our know how about the aging techniques,
by learning on site the differences among the various barrels and the family of wines of Villa Spinosa.
In order to spread our project we are planning to hold a series of tastings to face wine experts but also
to give the wine lovers the chance to grasp the differences among the wines, resulting from the “job” of the wood in the cellar.
