AMARONE AGING IN TONNEAUX
Tasting and comparison of ten woods

The Villa Spinosa's “Enoteca in Tinaia” hosted the first tasting of the Amarone which is aging in ten different tonneaux,
500 litre barrels from different suppliers and woods, all with different characteristics.
Villa Spinosa's oenologists, Dr. Gianmaria Ciman and Dr. Enrico Nicolis, who worked out this project,
ran the tasting to which wine producers from the Valpolicella, wine experts, journalists,
wine lovers and the staff of Villa Spinosa took part.
It was a tasting of comparison during which the participants tasted the ten proposals and expressed
their opinions about the 'sensory' differences they got from the same Amarone, aging from the beginning of December 2016 in tonneaux.
Many suggestions came out from the comparison: next appointment at the end of the year of aging in tonneaux!
